On February 9, 2019, we hosted an aid station at Mile Marker 11 for the Phoenix Marathon. We handed out water, Gatorade and fruit and cheered on marathon participants as they ran past our aid station. Not only did we have a great time, but we also won the award for "best aid station" which included a large donation to our club!
Busy Bee Mothers of Multiples believes in giving back to the community. We partner with organizations like The Boys and Girls Club of Gilbert, Feed My Starving Children, Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Zoowalk for Autism and the Phoenix Marathon. We also give back to the a variety of other institutions, such as the Chandler Regional NICU and FosterAZ.
On June 24th, 2019 BBMOM members gathered together at the Feed My Starving Children non-profit in Mesa, AZ. Along with our families, we helped package enough meals to feed 130 children in Mexico for one year! It was a great night for MoMs to hang out and give back to the community!
On October 13, 2018 we joined the Zoowalk for Autism Research at the Phoenix Zoo! We walked over 3 miles and raised over $1000 together as a team to go towards autism research! Our group also won the t-shirt contest and our design was featured on all the Zoowalk T-shirts! We thank those who walked with us and those who donated to our team to help us support this cause!
Every holiday season, we choose a non-member family with multiples to adopt that is going through a difficult time. This year we chose a family through a local organization that has two sets of twins! Our members donated gifts for the kids, needed household items for the family, and gift cards to be used towards groceries to give them a fantastic holiday. We love giving back to our community!
On September 14, 2018, BBMOM members gathered together for a Charity Craft and Donation Night to create scrapbook pages for parents of babies in the Chandler Regional Medical Center NICU. We collected blankets and preemie clothes for the NICU unit and created over 50 scrapbook pages. This event is so important to the NICU that we organize it at least twice per year.
